Bethesda has released the full notes for Fallout 76
Released through Bethdesda.net, many of the details of this patch were previously revealed, though a lot of new information has been given, including specifics on bug fixes, rebalancing, general improvements and more. Patch 1.0.2.0 clocks in at 3 GB for consoles and 36MB for PC versions of the game. Additionally, Bethesda promised that a new patch would drop on December 11.
The bulk of the patch notes detail various bug fixes. For consoles, an issue that caused players to encounter an infinite loading screen while signing out has been fixed. For Xbox One in particular, a crash that would send multiple team invitations after exiting Vault 76 to players who aren’t on your friends list has been ironed out as well. For PS4, C.A.M.P. wires won’t float in air when trying to connect multiple objects. For all versions of the game, an issue that made it so players couldn’t exit their power armor has been fixed.
Other bug fixes and issue workarounds include:
- Flip boards inside nuke silos will no longer display portions of launch codes soon after codes are reset.
- Turrets will no longer become invisible when players aren’t at their C.A.M.P. when they’re destroyed.
- Ranking up perk cards won’t cause duplicate cards to show up.
- An issue that prevented teams from being correctly formed in a game after being created on the main menu is gone.
- Display durations for social notifications are now shorter when many notifications are pending.
- Health bonuses will no longer be granted with the Electrically Charged and Unstable Isotope mutations.
- Players will now be disconnected from a game world after 10 minutes of inactivity, though a timer will appear one minute before being booted.
- After enemies are no longer in view, red crosshairs and enemy health bars won’t persist.
- Issues with non-english subtitles have been ironed out.
- An issue that could duplicate data in the Pip-Boy’s stat and effects interfaces is gone.
- Dying when “severely overencumbered” will no longer remove all map markers when attempting to respawn - now the player can respawn at the nearest discovered marker.
- Quest objective notifications won’t appear for inactive quests immediately upon connecting to a world.
General performance improvements include Bethesda removing a cap on PC frame rates, though reaching “very high frame rates” will no longer increase movement speed - an issue also addressed in the November 19 patch. General stability of the Fallout 76 game client and servers will also reportedly be improved.
As previously reported, maximum stash storage has been increased by 50%, now allowing up to 600 pounds of storage. Bethesda intends to increase this cap further in the future pending this increase doesn’t impact the game’s stability. Other balance improvements include XP rewards for high-level enemy kills being reduced, bosses should now regularly drop 2-4 items (depending on its difficulty and level) and automatic weapon damage has been given a 20% boost across the board.
PvP improvements include the Cryolator now applying a “Chilled, Frosted, or Frozen” status based on how many times another player is hit, and duration of movement speed reduction based on these effects has been “significantly decreased.”
Bethesda has been dealing with issues outside of the game as well, including the $200 Power Armor edition of the game coming with a cheaper quality of bag than promised. In our reviewof Fallout 76, we said "There are bright spots entangled in this mass of frustratingly buggy and sometimes conflicting systems."
